Besides
being known all over the world for the research and teaching of her Dunyavi
(Roma) dance, Dalia has been developing a new style of dance called "El Mundo",
which is Spanish for "world" or "encompassing everything". This art form is
a fusion of Near Eastern dance movements with Spanish and Latin dance influences.
This style blends movements from Spain and the Middle East, which expresses
pulsating rhythms and sensuality from both countries. The feelings of passion
behind the movements are imperative when fusing these rhythms and music from
these different cultures. Middle Eastern Dance movements are combined with
exciting Spanish and Latin skirt work techniques. Flamenco and Near Eastern
hand gestures are blended delicately together to accentuate the Moorish feeling
of this art form.
