Movement 1 – Maawia - This is a theatrical and contemporary interpretation inspired by the Bedouin Warrior Queen Maawia. The dancers dance with daggers and Scimitars to create lyrical designs and ritualistic movement as warriors of the desert. Choreography by Dalia Carella
Movement 2 – SaaHib of the Rose and the Bird (Owner of Knowledge) - A theatrical interpretation of a Bedouin mystic Sage fusing Modern, Near Eastern and African dance. Choreography by Davey Mashala Mitchell.
Movement 3 - Badawiyat (Bedouin women) - This dance transports the viewer to the desert at night, joining the Bedouin women on a beautiful, yet almost militant ride with sinuous and staccato movements culminating in an explosion of veils to represent a windstorm. Choreography by Dalia Carella.
